Great food and very fast service

” Great food and very fast service. It was very rustic and relaxed. We were able to eat outside by a bonfire then we went down and saw all kinds of fun animals for free! Very family friendly and a short ten minute ride from Cheyenne.”

What’s in Wyoming?

When most people think of Wyoming, they think of Yellowstone National Park, but there is so much more to do in Wyoming.  One hidden gem is the Terry Bison Ranch.  One thing they both have in common are the American Bison, however there is a major difference between...

Bison! Bison! Read All About It!

What comes to mind when you think of bison?  Some people associate bison with Native Americans and great beastly creatures that roamed the vast west.  TBR shares with you a more personal experience with these magnificent creatures and their incredible history of near...

Do you know the difference between a bison and a buffalo?

This is a question we hear often at the ranch.  So, we decided to dig in to the answer and here’s what we found:  Going into the dictionary we looked up buffalo and its described as a heavily built wild ox with large backswept horns.  Merriam-Webster describes a bison...
Wyoming School of Horseshoeing

The Wyoming School of Horseshoeing

We would like to take some time and keep our guests up to date about one of the biggest additions to our ranch, the Wyoming School of Horseshoeing.

This place is truly a hidden gem to explore wildlife you may not get a chance to see so intimately. We spent the whole day at the ranch, starting with old fashioned Sassparilla and walking the grounds. We took the train to visit the Bison and saw many new babies.  We then took a 2 hour dinner trail ride. What an amazing experience! Our guide Angel was friendly and knowledgeable, full of great information and stories about the history of the area. – Google
Had so much fun on the train! I loved feeding the bison and learning about them. Our conductor was funny and knowledgeable. The restaurant has great food. – Google
Took the family up here for the Bison Train tour.  My three year old loved it! Our guide was great and it really was a neat experience.  They had 5 baby buffalo that were all just a few days old!  It was a lot of fun to feed all of them.   – Google
This was one of our favorite stops during our 2 week trip. We loved riding the train and feeding the bison. It was so cool to have them so close…especially since everywhere else we went we were warned to stay away from them. – Trip Advisor
This is a great place to park your RV where all sites are good and it is very family oriented and has a nice “zoo” with llamas, alpakas, donkeys, ponies, peacocks, horses, bison, and camels. you can use the catwalk to see animals close up. – Trip Advisor
We only stayed as a stop for the night not as a destination. Folks were really nice. – Trip Advisor
Tour was awesome! Learned a lot about Bison and got to feed them. I really give the tour 5 stars.  Highly recommend it! – Yelp
Train ride thru part of the herd was fun, we fed all the majestic beasts and had sooooo much fun. Go inside their trading post and take a picture of yourself sitting on a buffalo or a JACKALOPE!!!! For free!!! It was fun and a nice side trip. – Yelp
If you are anywhere near, it is absolutely worth the drive! We came in early in the morning from Fort Collins so we could go on the 9AM train ride. For only $14 per adult (as of April 2018) you get to ride the train and see the wildlife and feed the bison. Absolutely worth it. – Yelp
